The French Department of Economy, Industry and Employment has yesterday made public the synthesis
of the public consultation on French Internet Top Level Domains, that took place last Spring.
All contributions (about thirty, in all) are also made public
AFNIC welcomes this important new stage in the process designed by the Decree of February the 6th 2007, that must lead to the formal appointment of the registries for .fr and overseas Internet Top Level Domains.
The number of received contributions, along with their tone, demonstrate the commitment of the French domain names stakeholders for a stable, open and transparent management of French Top Level Domains.
The expectations expressed within this consultation, widely echo the analysis drawn by AFNIC in its anwser, published in July.
The synthesis of the contributions particularly highlights the fact that ".fr has a positive and satisfying image, that inspires confidence".
AFNIC is now ready to reply to the calls for bidders, which constitute the next step of the appointment process.
