The AFNIC contributes to the French electoral web campaign Observatory

Published in: general -

The Internet Rights Forum (Forum des droits sur l'internet) has launched a Web Campaign Observatory. Its mission is to follow as closely as possible the usage of the French electoral campaign during the 2007-2008 period, to find out what the new political forms of communication are and formulate propositions.

The Web Campaign Observatory has published on January 31st, 2007 its first conclusion report PDF.
This document handles contestable practices of domain name registrations and usage, including reserved signs or designations used by the candidates to the presidential elections.

As the elections nears, the AFNIC often faces these kinds of problems. This is why the AFNIC whishes to salute the publication of this conclusion report and add some comments.

The AFNIC has sent to the Internet Rights Forum a note on the different leads brought up by this conclusion report.
