Personal data disclosure request form
This form will allow you to ask the AFNIC to remove the anonymity status of an individual holding a .fr domain name registered with restricted publication
(i.e its personal information are not published in Whois directory).
The AFNIC will study your request considering the information and its context and then will inform you of its decision.
If your application is rejected, you can make use of the other procedures in the Naming Charter,
which provide for four situations in which the personal details of individuals ("natural persons") can be obtained.
These are:
- Upon an order, petition or summons issued by a court. Please note, however, that it is useless to try to obtain this type of information by bringing an action against AFNIC;
- At the request of an authority entitled to disclosure (the General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control DGCCRF, Customs & Excise, Inland Revenue, etc.);
- As part of Alternative Dispute Resolution proceedings;
- Following a request for the lifting of anonymity submitted using the "Personal Data Disclosure Request" form available on the AFNIC website.
Removal of anonymity is not automatic, and AFNIC reserves the right, among other things, to reject the request in view of its purpose or the applicant's status.

AFNIC will handle personal details in accordance with the Naming Charter for the .fr domain, and
subject to the provisions of the French Data Protection Act, Law 78-17 of January 6, 1978 on Information technology, Files and Right.
As required by the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), when a domain name is registered by an individual the holder may opt for the default "restricted distribution" option.
If this option is chosen, no personal information (name, address, telephone, fax and e-mail address) is distributed online within the Whois database, but only technical information
(technical contact details, details of registrar and DNS servers).
