The Paris Trade Fair for Entrepreneurs: a key event

Both an indicator of entrepreneurial trends and a hands-on support system for visitors, the Paris Trade Fair for Entrepreneurs is a venue for training, information and exchange for all the professionals involved in the creation and development of businesses.  On the occasion of the 23rd edition of the Trade Fair, more than 65,000 visitors are expected on 3 & 4 February at the Palais des Congrès in Paris *

Afnic and Jimdo: the focus for the Small Business Tech program

Initiated during the previous edition of the Trade Fair, the SMALL BUSINESS TECH program presents all the digital tools and solutions needed to ensure the digital transition of SOHOs and SMEs: how to choose and reserve a domain name, create or redesign a company’s website, increase its visibility and sales through the web, create loyalty among online customers and develop a marketing strategy via the social networks…

The Trade Fair provides an opportunity for Afnic and Jimdo on their joint stand – No. 415 Village 4 – to recall their commitment to professionals and share their expertise in domain names and online presence.

“We are delighted to be attending the Paris Trade Fair for Entrepreneurs once again. In line with our actions around the Réussir-en.fr campaign (“Succeed with the .fr TLD”), it allows us to meet and talk with a large number of entrepreneurs, and answer their questions in terms of online presence. They have extensive needs and our role in helping them make the most of all the development opportunities available to them is essential,” says Mathieu Weill, Afnic CEO.

A workshop to support the online presence of entrepreneurs

Afnic will also host with its partner Jimdo – a multiplatform web content management system enabling the creation of websites – a Workshop entitled “An easy-to-use checklist to launch your internet activity“, the aim being to guide entrepreneurs in starting up their business online: Content, Internet address, design, Jimdo and Afnic will provide all the tips they need to have an effective website that corresponds to their image.

Our joint offer allows project owners to have a turnkey solution, including the hosting of their website and domain name under the .fr TLD, with a single invoice. The partnership also provides full support for entrepreneurs in getting their websites on-line aided by Jimdo experts to create the website, and the coaching provided by Réussir-en.fr in choosing a domain name,” adds Lucas LEFÈVRE, manager of Jimdo France.

About Afnic

Afnic is the acronym for Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération, the French Network Information Centre. The registry has been appointed by the French government to manage domain names under the .fr Top Level Domain. Afnic also manages the .re (Reunion Island), .pm (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon), .tf (French Southern and Antarctic Territories), .wf (Wallis and Futuna) and .yt (Mayotte) French Overseas TLDs.

In addition to managing French TLDs, Afnic’s role is part of a wider public interest mission, which is to contribute on a daily basis, thanks to the efforts of its teams and its members, to a secure and stable internet, open to innovation and in which the French internet community plays a leading role. As part of that mission, Afnic, a non-profit organization, has committed to devoting 11% of its Revenues from managing .fr Top Level Domain to actions of general interest, in particular by transferring €1.3 million each year to the Afnic Foundation for Digital Solidarity.
Afnic is also the back-end registry for the companies as well as local and regional authorities that have chosen to have their own TLD, such as .paris, .bzh, .alsace, .corsica, .mma, .ovh, .leclerc and .sncf.

Established in 1997 and based in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Afnic currently has nearly 90 employees.
