Afnic, the association responsible for .fr domain names, and Le Site du Made in France, the search engine for French-made products, signed a partnership in April 2026. This agreement aims to strengthen the visibility and online presence of VSEs and SMEs committed to Made in France production.
Le Site du Made in France (lesitedumadeinfrance.fr) places the spotlight on hundreds of brands via its platform. Operating across dozens of business sectors, from tableware to gardening and from electronics to food, these brands all have in common a certain know-how and quality, as well as being able to truly claim their products are manufactured in France. Many of the brands that contact Le Site du Made in France do not have their own website, and are on the hunt for solutions to develop their online presence.
As part of this partnership, Le Site du Made in France will steer them in the direction of Afnic’s support mechanisms, in particular “Réussir-en.fr” (“Succeed with .fr”) and “Je passe au numérique” (“I’m going digital”).
Developing and strengthening the visibility of brands producing in France
These companies will therefore be able to take advantage of resources, tools and training to assist them at each stage in their project, from defining their needs and creating their own website to expanding their business and their online presence.
The partnership ties in with the ongoing efforts of Le Site du Made in France to develop and strengthen the visibility of brands producing in France, and with Afnic’s own initiatives as an actor committed to defending and promoting the Internet Made in France in order to facilitate VSEs’ and SMEs’ access to digital technology.
The partnership is a natural next step for Afnic. As the association managing the national .fr domain and the French overseas TLDs .re, .pm, .tf, .wf and .yt, it works to ensure that these TLDs – both French digital common goods and critical Internet infrastructures – are designed, developed and maintained by teams based entirely in France. These essential infrastructures and data are also rooted in the national territory, with high standards for reliability, security and independence.
This agreement is all the more significant in terms of the complementarity between the two approaches: on one hand, a platform structuring and promoting the offering and know-how of French territories; and on the other, Afnic and the national .fr domain which gives expression to this commitment to the Made in France model right through to business’ online presence, while also reinforcing consumer confidence.
United under the Made in France banner!

About Afnic
Afnic is the acronym for Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération, the French Network Information Centre. The registry has been appointed by the French government to manage domain names under the .fr Top Level Domain. Afnic also manages the .re (Reunion Island), .pm (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon), .tf (French Southern and Antarctic Territories), .wf (Wallis and Futuna) and .yt (Mayotte) French Overseas TLDs.
In addition to managing French TLDs, Afnic’s role is part of a wider public interest mission, which is to contribute on a daily basis, thanks to the efforts of its teams and its members, to a secure and stable internet, open to innovation and in which the French internet community plays a leading role. As part of that mission, Afnic, a non-profit organization, has committed to devoting 11% of its Revenues from managing .fr Top Level Domain to actions of general interest, in particular by transferring €1.3 million each year to the Afnic Foundation for Digital Solidarity.
Afnic is also the back-end registry for the companies as well as local and regional authorities that have chosen to have their own TLD, such as .paris, .bzh, .alsace, .corsica, .mma, .ovh, .leclerc and .sncf.
Established in 1997 and based in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Afnic currently has nearly 90 employees.
