As announced on 16 April 2015, Afnic and .SE have been collaborating since 2013 on a replacement for their DNS checking tools, respectively ZoneCheck and DNSCheck.

In that context, a first version of the new tool, Zonemaster, was released on 11 December 2014.

Our joint communiqué of 3 Feb. 2015 announced the RELEASE 1.0 of Zonemaster software and presented its main features.

Today, we hereby invite you to try and adopt Zonemaster ( as a replacement for ZoneCheck at your convenience, if you have been using the latter regularly or occasionally so far.

As a matter of fact, ZoneCheck is not maintained any longer and will be phased out on 15 July 2015. We also invite you to urge your customers to use Zonemaster when checking their pre-delegated or post-delegated DNS zone.

Please stay tuned for the next steps within this ZoneCheck -> Zonemaster migration plan, in the hope that it will be as smooth as possible for you and for all current ZoneCheck users.
