After a competitive-dialogue procurement procedure, the tandem of Entrecom and Dufresne Corrigan Scarlett has been selected by Afnic (the French acronym for the French Network Information Centre) to ensure the promotion of the “.fr” TLD.

Afnic has chosen to invest in a new digital strategy, and a creative, positive, off-beat  approach. The goal is to make the .fr TLD an attractive namespace serving as a benchmark, especially for young people and entrepreneurs.

For Julien Naillet, Afnic Communications Director, “.fr domain names inspire trust because they include semantic and geographical indicators in their DNA. They are also a great way of promoting French expertise among our compatriots and foreign users. We want to offer a signature that means something, backed by a wealth of past experience and ready to face the future challenges of tomorrow’s Internet.”

Afnic is the acronym for Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération, the French Network Information Centre. The registry has been appointed by the French government to manage domain names under the .fr Top Level Domain.
