Named Faites-vous un nom .fr (Make you own identity in .fr), the
AFNIC’s online communication campaign was pre-selected for the French On-line Communication Awards.
Launched last spring, this campaign’s goal was to sensitize individuals to the benefits brought by the registration of a domain name and the
assets of the .fr Internet domain, such as personalising an e-mail address or a website as well as the possibility to emphasize its belonging to the
French speaking community.
This communication device was achieved with the help of CoSpirit / MediaTrack, marketing and media counsel, in partnership with Loadings,
specialized in online audiovisual solutions.
The AFNIC campaign was selected with 18 other online videos by the students of the Rouen School Management to be submitted to a jury
composed of the students from important schools, Internet users as well as marketing and communication professionals. The verdict will be given
on October 21st 2008.
Launched by the Rouen School Management, in partnership with Media Institute, TNS Media Intelligence and Orange, the French On-line
Communication Awards reward advertising campaigns that best promote the perception and the impact of online communication on young people and
marketing professionals. Pre-selected for its online campaign “Make you own identity in .fr”, that presents the unlimited possibilities of e-mail
or website personalization in .fr, AFNIC is delighted of this choice and hopes to be one of the happy winners. To be continued.

About Afnic
Afnic is the acronym for Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération, the French Network Information Centre. The registry has been appointed by the French government to manage domain names under the .fr Top Level Domain. Afnic also manages the .re (Reunion Island), .pm (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon), .tf (French Southern and Antarctic Territories), .wf (Wallis and Futuna) and .yt (Mayotte) French Overseas TLDs.
In addition to managing French TLDs, Afnic’s role is part of a wider public interest mission, which is to contribute on a daily basis, thanks to the efforts of its teams and its members, to a secure and stable internet, open to innovation and in which the French internet community plays a leading role. As part of that mission, Afnic, a non-profit organization, has committed to devoting 11% of its Revenues from managing .fr Top Level Domain to actions of general interest, in particular by transferring €1.3 million each year to the Afnic Foundation for Digital Solidarity.
Afnic is also the back-end registry for the companies as well as local and regional authorities that have chosen to have their own TLD, such as .paris, .bzh, .alsace, .corsica, .mma, .ovh, .leclerc and .sncf.
Established in 1997 and based in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Afnic currently has nearly 90 employees.
