Afnic, the registry operator for .fr domain names, conducted the 2026 edition of its annual survey of its 300 registrar customers accredited for the registration and management of .fr domain names[1].
The overall satisfaction level was very high, with 99% of respondents satisfied, a figure up on 2025 (95%). The top-box score (“entirely satisfied”) also improved on 2025, up from 62% then to 74% in 2026.
Although the response rate was stable compared with 2025, at 5.6%, 78% of those respondents have been partners of Afnic for 10 years or more (11% between 5 and 10 years, 6% between 2 and 5 years and 5% under 2 years) – a figure which speaks volumes. This participation from its long-standing partners reflects the fruitful exchanges and cooperation that Afnic and its accredited registrars have established and maintained since Afnic’s creation. Two registrar representatives even serve as permanent members of Afnic’s Board of Trustees.
Another sign of this trust placed in Afnic, the survey revealed a very high Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 98%[2], ranging from 6 to 10, up on the 96% achieved in 2025.
And this high level of satisfaction was consistent across all registrar profiles, ranging between 94% and 100%.
In terms of technical aspects:
Satisfaction with the registration interfaces (API REST, EPP, web) was very high at between 96% and 100%.
Afnic’s infrastructure management scored well, with a 99% satisfaction rate for data reliability and response times.
In terms of customer and commercial relations:
Exchanges with Afnic’s Customer Relations department were highly appreciated, with a 100% satisfaction score for the quality of the responses provided and understanding of customers’ requests.
Invoicing management was also deemed excellent, achieving a 100% satisfaction score for accuracy and for support in the event of any issues.
Here’s what our registrars have to say:
Afnic is seen as an organisation that is “trustworthy” (100%), “professional” (99%), “efficient” (98%), and “attentive” (97%), and that “promotes digital solidarity” (99%).
Thank you!
Our thanks go to all of our accredited registrars and respondents. We look forward to hearing your future thoughts and feedback.
