Biographie

Isabel Toutaud gained her university education in regional planning at the Institute of the University of Poitiers. From 1993 to 1998, she began her career as an expert engineer within the Service and Networks Unit of INRIA (National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control), more specifically in charge of the activities of NIC FRANCE. She thus joined Afnic upon its creation to take responsibility for customer service and domain name management, then in 2007, she established the Legal Affairs and Registry Policies Department. In 2011, Isabel became Legal Director, involved in the development and application of domain name registry policies, specifically dispute management. Today Isabel devotes her time to the Afnic Foundation for Digital Solidarity, launched in 2015, as its Managing Director. She coordinates the actions of the Foundation to support structural and field projects, aimed either at using the Internet to promote social and economic solidarity, or at disseminating uses and knowledge on the Internet in order to development solidarity on French territory. Afnic, a non-profit association, donates 90% of the profits made managing the .fr to its Foundation, which has already funded 244 projects in the region of €5 million.
