Marianne Georgelin

Biographie

Since January 2018, Marianne Georgelin has been Head of Legal & Policy, responsible for registry policy, abuse and disputes and since October 2020, Afnic Legal Director. She joined Afnic's legal department in 2007 as an IP/IT legal expert, and participated in the implementation of the new Afnic dispute resolution system. From 2009, she was involved in the launch of new TLDs including the .paris, .bzh and .alsace by assisting these domains in outlining their strategies, preparing their applications and developing their registry policies. In 2014, Marianne became Afnic's Senior Policy Manager within the Marketing Department, responsible for .fr policy developments. She graduated in International and European Law from the University of Utrecht and in Media Law from the University of Toulouse. She began her career in 2002 at Cable & Wireless as a legal expert specialising in telecommunications before joining the Valeo Group from 2004 to 2007 as international legal counsel.
