For the fifth year running, Afnic is organizing its Scientific Council Open Day on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 9:30 to 18:30. This year, it is taking place once again in the premises of the Mines-Télécom Institute in Paris.

Open to the Internet community at large, the event this year is focusing on scientific and technical measurements via the Internet

Program

As every year, the day is divided into two parts (a tutorial in the morning and a seminar of the Afnic Scientific Council in the afternoon):

“What measurements can be made on the Internet, and for what scientific and technical purposes?”

  • 09:30 – 11:00: Tutorial (Part 1)

– Practical use of European IP network (RIPE) Atlas probes for network measurement / diagnostics by Stéphane Bortzmeyer (Afnic R&D Engineer)

  • 11:00 – 11:20: Coffee / Tea break
  • 11:20 – 12:30: Tutorial (Part 2)

  • 14:00 – 18:20: Seminar
  • 14:00 -15:00: Opening session

– Opening speeches and presentation of the Afnic Scientific Council by Afnic and the Mines-Télécom Institute

– Introduction to the seminar by Laurent Toutain, Télécom Bretagne (Chairman of the Afnic Scientific Council)

– Keynote by Patrick Fältström (Head R&D, Netnod)
