Afnic strengthens its collaboration with Cyber Campus by becoming a Member.
The goal of the Cyber Campus project is to bring together cybersecurity stakeholders from diverse backgrounds (big businesses, SMEs, associations, academia, State services, etc.) at a single site at La Défense as a means to promote a French approach to cybersecurity and to develop synergies.
Launched by the President of the French Republic and inaugurated in February 2022, Cyber Campus has already united a community of 250 stakeholders. Having joined the initiative from the outset as a partner, Afnic is now stepping up its support for this unique project by becoming a member of Cyber Campus.
An operator of a critical Internet infrastructure in France, Afnic has made security a top priority in order to provide users with services that meet the highest standards. It relies on a daily basis on an approach based on continuous improvement and an ISO 27001 certified Information Security Management System (ISMS) to constantly reinforce the security of its infrastructure. Its innovation activities are also centred around cybersecurity, with a specific focus on detecting and dealing with abuse, a core issue in the digital sphere.
Becoming a Member of Cyber Campus will allow Afnic to participate in the governance of this unique site through the College composed of the associations, a demonstration of its willingness to strengthen its cooperation and support in the long term for the different initiatives led by the stakeholders involved this project. In return, Afnic will provide this ecosystem with its expertise and know-how in DNS and domain name security.
We are delighted with this new status, which resonates with our general interest mission and our goal to share and enrich our experiences among a community driven by a pursuit of excellence in the field of cybersecurity.

Afnic is the acronym for Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération, the French Network Information Centre. The registry has been appointed by the French government to manage domain names under the .fr Top Level Domain. Afnic also manages the .re (Reunion Island), .pm (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon), .tf (French Southern and Antarctic Territories), .wf (Wallis and Futuna) and .yt (Mayotte) French Overseas TLDs.
In addition to managing French TLDs, Afnic’s role is part of a wider public interest mission, which is to contribute on a daily basis, thanks to the efforts of its teams and its members, to a secure and stable internet, open to innovation and in which the French internet community plays a leading role. As part of that mission, Afnic, a non-profit organization, has committed to devoting 11% of its Revenues from managing .fr Top Level Domain to actions of general interest, in particular by transferring €1.3 million each year to the Afnic Foundation for Digital Solidarity.
Afnic is also the back-end registry for the companies as well as local and regional authorities that have chosen to have their own TLD, such as .paris, .bzh, .alsace, .corsica, .mma, .ovh, .leclerc and .sncf.
Established in 1997 and based in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Afnic currently has nearly 90 employees.
